Katonisiotisses

…there was a traditional family coming from Mani. Because of a local vendetta, members of the family had to abandon their homes and leave their village. They traveled across the coast with a small boat and they stranded on the Panagias Islands, at the Kato Nisi beach of Elafonisos.

Kato Nisi area, a barren land then, became their new homeland. They built their homes, they cultivated the land and they learned how to fish. Kato Nisi is their home since 1870.

Years later, one of the 2nd generation boys, Panagis Psaromatis, undertook core responsibilities of the island. Panagis along with his fellow villagers placed the Elafonisos ambits and became the 1st mayor of the community of Elafonisos.  The 14 children of Panagis and Maria Psaromatis, as well as the rest of the family (cousins, nephews, nieces and their families) are today the residents of the Kato Nisi area of Elafonisos.

This is where young “Katonisiotisses” have their studios. Twelve young girls (Eugenia, Irene, Asimina, Chrysovalanti, Joanna, Niki, Margaret, Aphrodite, Areti, Marina, Evlambia and Georgia) grand-granddaughters of Panagis Psaromatis are the 5th generation of the Katonisiotes family.

Nearby the “Katonisiotisses rooms” is located the beautiful seafood restaurant of their grandfather, called “Limnitsa”.  Their Grandfather, captain Michalis goes fishing every day, providing the tavern with local fresh fish.
"Katonisiotisses rooms" and "Limnitsa restaurant" are just a few meters away from the beach of the Panagias Katonisiotissas Islands.

The twelve young girls spend their whole summer playing on the beach. Clear blue crystal water, golden sand, sea cedars and dunes. Relaxation, revitalization and calmness is the feeling of the Kato Nisi summer holidays.

Young Katonisiotisses invite you to their small paradise, Kato Nisi.
